Our story

We met in 2019 in the queue for a food truck in Lisbon that had, it turned out, run out of everything but lemonade. Theo offered to share his; Amara said yes, and has been saying it since.

Six years, two cities and one very patient cat later, we would love you to join us for a weekend in the Loire: a ceremony in the garden, dinner in the orangery, dancing until the small hours and a slow brunch on Sunday.

The day

  1. 14:00 · The terrace

    Welcome drinks

Cold drinks in the shade while everyone arrives.

  2. 15:00 · The garden

    Ceremony

Thirty minutes, outdoors if the weather allows, in the orangery if not.

  3. 18:00 · The orangery

    Dinner

A long table, a seasonal menu by the château’s kitchen, speeches kept short.

  4. 21:00 · The barn

    Dancing

A band until midnight, then a playlist we have been building for a year.

  5. Sunday 11:00 · The courtyard

    Brunch

Come when you wake up. We stay until the coffee runs out.

Getting there

Château de Lisle is 25 minutes from Tours station (TGV from Paris in one hour). A shuttle leaves Tours at 13:00 and returns at midnight and 01:00; tell us in your RSVP if you want a seat.

Where to stay

The château sleeps 24 and those rooms are taken by family. We have held rooms at Hôtel du Parc in Lisle (10 minutes away) until 31 July; mention our names when you book.

Gifts

Your being there is the gift. If you would like to give something, we are saving for a honeymoon in Kyoto and a contribution to that would make us very happy.

FAQ

Questions

What should I wear?

Garden formal: suits and summer dresses, and shoes you can stand on grass in. September evenings in the Loire are cool, so bring a layer.

Can I bring my children?

We love your children and we are keeping the day for grown-ups, with one exception for babies under one. Hôtel du Parc can recommend sitters.

Can I bring a plus-one?

If your invitation names a guest, yes. If it does not, we are sorry: the orangery has exactly as many chairs as we have friends.

Is there parking?

Yes, free, in the field by the gate. The shuttle from Tours is easier if you plan to dance.
