About

About Mara Lindqvist

I photograph people and places the way they are on a good day: natural light, little direction, time to let a moment settle. Most of my work is editorial and personal series, with portraits and commissions in between.

I started in 2014 with a secondhand Nikon and a train pass. Since then the work has been published in Fjord Quarterly, Alpine Journal and Kinfolk, and shown three times, most recently at Röda Sten in 2025.

Reviews

What clients say

Mara photographed our team over one afternoon and somehow everyone looks like themselves. Nobody says that about team photos.

Ingrid SatoFounder, Fieldnote

The Lofoten story ran as our cover. Quiet, patient work, delivered early.

Jonas BergEditor, Fjord Quarterly

We hired her for a lookbook and kept the photographs on the wall of the studio afterwards.

FAQ

Questions

How do I book a portrait session?

Send a message with a few dates that suit you. I reply within a working day with a time, a place and a short list of what to bring.

How long until I get the photographs?

Portraits within a week. Editorial and commercial work on the date we agree, usually two to three weeks after the shoot.

Do you travel?

Yes. Scandinavia and the Alps are home ground; elsewhere is possible with travel and a day of margin added to the quote.

Who owns the photographs?

I keep the copyright and you get a licence for the uses we agree, written into the quote. Personal portraits come with a licence for any personal use.
