Statpio vs Netlify: Static Site Hosting Compared (2026)

Last updated:

Choose Netlify if your site runs server-side code such as functions or SSR, depends on _redirects or _headers rules, or is built and previewed by a team working in Git. Choose Statpio if you host static sites, often for clients, and want a flat price instead of credits, password protection on every plan, forms captured without extra markup and a white-label client portal on Agency Pro. Both include built-in forms, cookieless analytics and free SSL.

Source: Netlify pricing, How credits work, credit-based plans and the docs linked below, as of October 2026 (checked 11 October 2026). Statpio figures come from the live plans on the Statpio pricing page.

How does Netlify's credit pricing compare with Statpio's flat prices?

As of October 2026, Netlify's pricing page lists Free at $0 with 300 credits a month, Personal at $9 a month with 1,000 credits and Pro at $20 a month with 3,000 credits and unlimited members. Larger Pro credit tiers go up to 20,000 credits for $126 a month. Netlify's Free-plan announcement says you can deploy commercial projects on Free.

Per How credits work (as of October 2026), usage spends credits: a production deploy costs 15 credits, bandwidth 20 credits per GB and web requests 2 credits per 10,000. Deploy Previews, branch deploys, failed deploys, rollbacks and form submissions are free. So Free's 300 credits cover about 20 production deploys or about 15 GB of bandwidth, not both. When a team's credits run out, "all of your web projects (sites/apps) are paused" and visitors see a "Site not available" page; the billing FAQ adds that paused sites don't receive form submissions. Free can't buy more credits. Personal and Pro can turn on auto-recharge, which is off by default.

Statpio charges flat prices. Free Forever costs nothing, Solo Pro is $9 a month or $89 a year, and Agency Pro is $49 a month or $399 a year. Bandwidth is listed as unmetered on every plan and deploys aren't billed, though plans allow 25, 200 or 1,000 a day. Plans cap projects (1, 10 or 100) instead; on paid plans, an extra project costs $3 a month and an extra domain $0.50.

In practice, one small, rarely updated site can stay free on Netlify, custom domain included, which Statpio's free plan doesn't offer. Several client sites on Netlify draw on one team credit balance, so a busy month can pause all of them unless you pay for more. On Statpio, up to 10 sites cost a fixed $9 a month on Solo Pro.

How do the features compare?

Deploying

As of October 2026, every Netlify plan deploys from AI tools, Git or its API, and Netlify Drop publishes a dragged folder or ZIP file with "no Git repository" needed. Deploy Previews are unlimited on every plan (credit-based plans).

Statpio takes a ZIP of your built site, dropped on the project's Deployments page. GitHub push-to-deploy needs Solo Pro or higher, and you can also deploy through the Statpio Custom GPT or API.

Forms

Netlify Forms are, as of October 2026, "free and unlimited for all credit-based plans" (How credits work). You enable form detection and add data-netlify="true"; Netlify finds your forms by parsing your HTML when each build completes, so a form rendered by JavaScript needs a hidden HTML copy. Notifications go to email, Slack or a webhook.

On Statpio, any standard <form method="POST"> without an action attribute is captured automatically, including forms that JavaScript adds after the page loads. Every form gets a visible Cloudflare Turnstile widget plus a hidden honeypot that Statpio adds itself, and the CAPTCHA can't be switched off. Submissions, file uploads included, appear under Forms & Leads and export to CSV. The trade-offs: plans allow 250, 10,000 or 100,000 submissions a month, and alerts are browser and mobile-app push notifications only, not email.

Analytics

As of October 2026, Netlify Web Analytics comes from CDN server logs, with no cookies and no client-side code, so ad blockers don't affect it (How Web Analytics works). The data window is the current or past day on Free, 24 hours on Personal and 30 days on Pro (credit-based plans). Netlify's separate Observability view of requests and functions has a shorter window: 7 days on Pro.

Statpio adds a lightweight (~1.6 KB) first-party script to every page. It sets no cookies and uses no third-party trackers but stores an anonymous visitor ID in localStorage and a session ID in sessionStorage, and blockers can block it. Free Forever shows basic analytics; Solo Pro and up add UTM campaigns, devices and real-time visitors. Check whether your jurisdiction requires visitor consent.

Custom domains and SSL

As of October 2026, Netlify includes custom domains on every plan, Free included, and provisions Let's Encrypt certificates automatically. Root domains work directly through an A record, an ALIAS record or Netlify DNS (Get started with domains).

Statpio custom domains need Solo Pro or Agency Pro. Under Custom Domains, enter the domain and click Connect Domain, then create two CNAME records: www to cname.onstatpio.com, and _acme-challenge.www to the validation value shown in the dashboard. SSL is issued automatically once the validation record is found. A root domain such as example.com is served through www, so you forward it at your registrar.

Password protection

Netlify's password protection docs say, as of October 2026, that it "isn't available on Credit-based Free and Personal plans"; Pro and Enterprise include it, along with basic HTTP authentication. On Statpio, every plan, Free Forever included, can lock a site: under Settings, open Password Protection, enter a password and click Enable.

Rollbacks

On Netlify, as of October 2026, you roll back instantly by publishing an earlier deploy (Manage deploys). By default, old deploys are deleted after 30 days (90 on paid plans), apart from the published deploy and the latest successful ones. Statpio offers instant rollback and keeps 5, 20 or 50 earlier deployments by plan.

Client access

As of October 2026, Netlify's Free and Personal plans allow one team member, the owner, plus unlimited free Reviewers who review projects and share feedback; Pro adds unlimited members (billing FAQ, credit-based plans, April 2026 pricing update). Netlify's pricing page lists no white-label option or client portal.

Statpio's Agency Pro includes a white-label client portal with your logo, colors, support email and portal domain (such as portal.agency.com), and up to 50 client collaborators with scoped roles. Clients see forms, leads, analytics and change requests, but not code, DNS or billing; deployments, rollbacks, settings and domains stay with the account owner. Free Forever and Solo Pro have no collaborator seats. Our guide to white-label hosting for agency clients covers the setup.

When is Netlify the better choice?

How do I move a site from Netlify to Statpio?

  1. List what only works on Netlify: Functions, Edge Functions, server-side rendering, _redirects, _headers, netlify.toml rules, and email, Slack or webhook form notifications. Server code means staying on Netlify.
  2. Build locally. Run your build, check that the output folder (often dist/, build/ or out/) works on its own, and zip it; the ZIP must contain an index.html. Next.js needs output: 'export'.
  3. Deploy the ZIP. In Statpio, click New Website, enter a name and click Create. Open Deployments, keep Static Site selected and drop the ZIP. On Solo Pro and up you can connect GitHub under Integrations instead.
  4. Handle routing. Statpio doesn't read _redirects, _headers or netlify.toml. For a client-side router, turn on SPA Mode in Settings. For a multi-page site, include a 404.html for missing pages. Recreate other redirects another way, such as client-side code, or at your registrar for whole domains.
  5. Update your forms. Keep method="POST" and remove the form's action attribute. Remove data-netlify (or netlify), the netlify-honeypot attribute and the hidden field it names, and the hidden form-name input; otherwise Statpio saves those fields with every lead. Statpio adds its own CAPTCHA and honeypot. If you used Netlify's AJAX example, remove that fetch() submit handler, because it conflicts with Statpio's own handler and CAPTCHA.
  6. Connect your domain (Solo Pro and up). Under Custom Domains, keep the www. option, enter your domain and click Connect Domain. Create the two CNAME records shown, wait for SSL and forward the root domain to www at your registrar. If the domain uses Netlify DNS, add the records there, first deleting the NETLIFY record for www, which disconnects that name from your Netlify site (Manage DNS records). Or move DNS first.
  7. Test, then remove the Netlify site. Keep it until the new site loads over HTTPS. Submit a test form and check Forms & Leads, open a few old URLs, and confirm pageviews under Analytics.

Statpio or Netlify: which should you pick?

  • Freelancers with static client sites: Statpio, for password-protected previews, forms with no setup and one flat price. Netlify, if clients want an email for every lead or the site needs a function.
  • Agencies that want clients to log in: Statpio Agency Pro, for the branded portal and client seats. Netlify Pro, if several of your developers need to deploy.
  • AI-built sites: Statpio, if the build is static (Bolt's Vite projects, older React + Vite Lovable apps); Netlify, which documents TanStack Start, for newer Lovable apps. Our guide to deploying AI-generated websites covers each builder.
  • Developer teams on Next.js or other SSR frameworks: Netlify.
  • One personal site on a custom domain at no cost: Netlify Free, if deploys and traffic fit in 300 credits a month (as of October 2026).

If neither fits, our comparison of Netlify alternatives covers Cloudflare Pages, Vercel, GitHub Pages and Render. If Statpio fits, Solo Pro is the plan for solo work and Agency Pro adds the client portal.

Frequently asked questions

Is Netlify cheaper than Statpio?

It depends on how many sites you run and how busy they are. As of October 2026, Netlify Free costs $0 with 300 credits a month, Personal is $9 a month for 1,000 credits and Pro is $20 a month for 3,000 credits. Production deploys, bandwidth and requests spend credits, and when they run out, every site pauses unless you buy more on a paid plan. Statpio's Solo Pro is a flat $9 a month for up to 10 projects, with bandwidth listed as unmetered. One small site that rarely changes can stay free on Netlify; several client sites are easier to budget on Statpio.

Does Statpio read Netlify's _redirects, _headers and netlify.toml files?

No. Statpio reads none of them. It has an SPA Mode setting that serves index.html for client-side routes; with SPA Mode off, it serves your own 404.html for missing pages. Other redirects have to be recreated another way, such as in client-side code or at your registrar for whole domains. If your site depends on many redirect, proxy or header rules, Netlify is the better fit.

Can I password-protect a site on Netlify's free plan?

No. As of October 2026, Netlify's password protection isn't available on its credit-based Free and Personal plans; it's included on Pro ($20 a month) and Enterprise. Statpio includes site password protection on every plan, including Free Forever.

Will my Netlify forms work on Statpio?

Usually, with small changes. Statpio captures any standard HTML form with method="POST" and no action attribute, including forms that JavaScript renders after the page loads. Remove data-netlify and the netlify-honeypot attribute, and remove any fetch() submit handler you added for Netlify's AJAX submissions, because it conflicts with Statpio's own handler. Every form shows a visible Cloudflare Turnstile check, submissions are limited to 250, 10,000 or 100,000 a month by plan, and new ones trigger push notifications only, not email.

Can Statpio run Next.js server features or Netlify Functions?

No. Statpio hosts static output only, so Node servers, server-side rendering, API routes, server actions and functions don't run. A Next.js site needs output: 'export'. If your project needs any of these, use Netlify: as of October 2026 it runs serverless functions on every plan and supports Next.js SSR, ISR and middleware.

Which is better for agencies hosting client sites?

It depends on who needs to log in. As of October 2026, Netlify Pro ($20 a month) includes unlimited team members, and every plan allows unlimited free Reviewers who review projects and share feedback, but Netlify's pricing page lists no white-label portal. Statpio's Agency Pro ($49 a month) adds a white-label client portal under your brand and domain, with up to 50 client seats; clients see forms, leads, analytics and change requests, while deployments stay with you.
