Statpio vs Vercel: Which to Use for Static Sites in 2026

Pick Vercel if your project runs server code or is built by a team: Next.js with server-side rendering, API routes, Server Actions or middleware, serverless functions, or several developers who want a preview URL for every branch. Pick Statpio if you host static sites for clients or a business and want form capture, cookieless analytics and password protection at one flat price, with commercial use allowed even on the free plan. AI-built sites split the same way: v0 publishes straight to Vercel, while a static build from Bolt, an older Lovable app or a Next.js static export runs on either.

How much do Statpio and Vercel cost?
Can I use Vercel's free Hobby plan for client sites?
No. Vercel's Fair Use Guidelines (as of October 2026) say "Hobby teams are restricted to non-commercial personal use only." Vercel's examples of commercial use include being paid to create, update or host the site, advertising a product or service, taking payments and showing ads. A site you build for a paying client needs Vercel Pro or Enterprise.
Statpio's terms have no non-commercial rule, so Free Forever can host a business site. Its limits are different: 1 project on a *.onstatpio.com subdomain, a Statpio badge and no custom domain. A client site on its own domain needs Solo Pro or higher.
What do the paid plans cost?
As of October 2026, Vercel Pro is a $20/month platform fee that includes one deploying seat and $20 of monthly usage credit. Each extra seat that can deploy (Owner or Member) is $20/month, and Viewer seats are free and unlimited. Usage beyond the credit is billed on demand. Pro has no project limit (Hobby allows 200).
Since September 2026, new Pro teams get Flat Rate CDN by default, and existing teams can opt in. Per the Flat Rate CDN docs, Pro includes 1 million CDN requests and 1 TB of data transfer a month. A one-day spike doesn't change the bill. If a whole month goes over, Vercel moves the team to a higher tier (from $20/month) at the next billing cycle.
Statpio charges a flat price per account. Solo Pro is $9/month ($89/year) for 10 projects and 10 custom domains. Agency Pro is $49/month ($399/year) for 100 projects, 100 domains and the client portal. Bandwidth is unmetered on every plan.
Three developers who all deploy pay $60/month on Vercel Pro before usage. Statpio has no deploying seats to buy: only the account owner can deploy, roll back or change settings. For static client sites, Vercel's add-ons matter more than its base price: Password Protection is $20/month per protected project, and forms need a separate service or your own function.
How do Statpio and Vercel features compare?
Vercel details in this section are as of October 2026.
Deploying
Vercel deploys from Git (GitHub, GitLab or Bitbucket), the CLI, or Vercel Drop, which deploys a dragged-in folder or .zip and builds framework projects. With Git connected, it creates a preview deployment for every push to a non-production branch and every pull request, each with its own URL. v0 deploys projects to Vercel directly.
Statpio hosts built static files only. You drag and drop a ZIP of the build (any plan), connect a GitHub repository for push-to-deploy (Solo Pro and up), or use the Statpio Custom GPT and API. There are no per-branch preview URLs and no server code.
Forms
Vercel's pricing page lists no form product. Its own Webflow migration guide says to connect forms to Formspree through the Vercel Marketplace; in a Next.js app you can also handle forms with a Server Action or a function. Statpio captures any standard HTML <form method="POST"> without an action attribute, adds a visible Cloudflare Turnstile check against spam, and lists submissions in the dashboard with export to CSV. Plans include 250, 10,000 or 100,000 submissions a month. New-lead alerts are browser and mobile push only, with no email notifications.
Analytics
Vercel Web Analytics counts events. Hobby includes 50,000 a month with a one-month reporting window. Pro pays $0.03 per 1,000 events from its usage credit and keeps 12 months; UTM parameters need Web Analytics Plus at $10/month per team. Vercel says it works without third-party cookies, identifying visitors by a hash of the request.
Statpio injects a ~1.6 KB first-party script into every page, sets no cookies and stores an anonymous visitor ID in localStorage. Basic analytics is on Free Forever; UTM campaigns, devices, referrers and real-time visitors come with Solo Pro and up. With either tool, check whether your jurisdiction requires visitor consent.
Custom domains and SSL
Vercel allows custom domains on every plan, up to 50 per project on Hobby (per its domain docs). It supports apex domains with an A record and issues and renews SSL certificates automatically. On Statpio, custom domains start at Solo Pro: add the domain in the dashboard, create two CNAME records (one for the site, one for SSL validation), and the certificate is issued automatically. A root domain such as example.com is served through www, so you forward the root to www at your registrar.
Password protection
Statpio includes password protection on every plan, Free Forever too: visitors enter a password you set under Settings > Password Protection. On Vercel, Password Protection isn't available on Hobby and costs $20/month per protected project on Pro. Every Vercel plan includes Vercel Authentication, which admits only logged-in Vercel users with access and people holding a Shareable Link. Hobby allows one external user and one Shareable Link per account.
Rollbacks
Both roll back instantly. On Vercel, Hobby can roll back to the immediately previous deployment, while Pro and Enterprise can return to any earlier production deployment. Statpio keeps the last 5, 20 or 50 deployments by plan.
Client access
Vercel Pro gives clients free Viewer seats: read-only access to Vercel's own dashboard to view deployments and analytics and comment on previews. Statpio's Agency Pro plan has a white-label client portal instead. Clients log in under your agency's logo, colors, support email and portal domain (such as portal.agency.com), with up to 50 collaborator seats with scoped roles. They see their forms, leads, analytics and change requests, but can't touch code, DNS or billing. Free Forever and Solo Pro have no collaborator seats. More in our guide to white-label hosting for agency clients.
When is Vercel the better choice?
Choose Vercel when any of these apply (Vercel details as of October 2026):
- Next.js with server features. Vercel maintains Next.js and runs it with zero configuration: SSR through Vercel Functions, ISR, middleware, streaming and image optimization. Statpio can only host a static export.
- Functions and API routes. Webhook handlers, endpoints that use a secret API key and scheduled jobs need code running on a server. Statpio has no backend or database.
- Preview deployments per branch. If reviewers need a unique URL for every pull request, Vercel does it by default. Statpio has no per-branch preview URLs.
- A team of developers. Vercel Pro's seats let several people deploy, with roles and preview comments. On Statpio only the account owner deploys.
- Many projects on one plan. Hobby allows 200 projects and Pro has no limit. Statpio caps active projects at 1, 10 or 100 by plan, and paid plans add more at $3/month each.
- v0 and newer Lovable apps. v0 publishes to Vercel natively, and Lovable projects on TanStack Start deploy to Vercel with zero configuration. Lovable apps created since 13 May 2026 need a server, so they can't run on Statpio as they are.
- Routing rules and bare root domains. Vercel's project configuration supports redirects, rewrites and custom headers, and it serves apex domains. Statpio reads no redirect or header files and serves the root through www.
How do I move a static site from Vercel to Statpio?
Only move a site whose build output is plain HTML, CSS and JavaScript. For Next.js, set output: 'export'. The Next.js static export docs list what stops working, including Server Actions, ISR, Proxy (middleware), redirects, rewrites and headers in next.config, and image optimization with the default loader. If your site depends on any of these, stay on Vercel.
// next.config.js
module.exports = {
output: 'export',
images: { unoptimized: true },
}
- Build the site. Run your build (for example
npm run build) and find the output folder:outfor a Next.js export, distfor Vite. It needsindex.htmlat the top level. - Create a project. In the Statpio dashboard, click New Website, enter a name and click Create.
- Deploy. On the project's Deployments page, keep Static Site selected and drop a ZIP of the output folder (any plan). Or, on Solo Pro and up, open the GitHub Actions tab under Integrations, connect the repository and branch, and set Output Directory to
outfor a Next.js export (the default isdist). Each push to that branch then builds and deploys. - Check SPA Mode. A React or Vite app with client-side routing needs SPA Mode on (Settings, General section) so routes don't 404 on refresh. Statpio turns it on automatically when an uploaded ZIP looks like a single-page app. For a multi-page Next.js export, make sure it's off so your
404.htmlis served for missing pages. - Fix your forms. Make sure each form uses
method="POST", then remove theactionattribute and any JavaScript submit handler (fetch()withpreventDefault()), which conflicts with Statpio's handler and breaks the CAPTCHA. Send a test submission on the *.onstatpio.com address. - Replace vercel.json rules. Redirects and headers in
vercel.jsondon't carry over, and Statpio has no rules file. Keep old URLs as real files (about.htmlorabout/index.htmlserves/about). - Add your domain (Solo Pro and up). On the Custom Domains page, keep www. Domain selected, enter
yourdomain.comand click Connect Domain. At your registrar, point a CNAME forwwwtocname.onstatpio.com, replacing the old Vercel record. Add a second CNAME for_acme-challenge.wwwwith the validation value the dashboard shows. Then forward the root domain tohttps://www.yourdomain.com. - Retire the Vercel project last. Once the domain shows Active and the site loads over HTTPS on your domain, delete the Vercel project.
Statpio or Vercel: which should you choose?
- Developers building a Next.js app with server features, APIs or a database, or teams that need a preview URL per pull request: Vercel.
- v0 users: Vercel is the natural home; a v0 project with no server features can also be exported statically (see our guide to deploying AI-generated websites).
- A personal, non-commercial site: Vercel Hobby, or Statpio Free Forever if a *.onstatpio.com address is enough.
- Freelancers hosting static client sites with contact forms: Statpio Solo Pro, which covers commercial use, custom domains, forms, analytics and password protection in one price.
- Agencies handing sites and leads to clients: Statpio Agency Pro, for the white-label portal.
- Static sites from Bolt or older Lovable apps: either works. Statpio if you want form capture built in; Vercel if you may add server features later.

Frequently asked questions
Is Statpio cheaper than Vercel?
On list price, yes for a commercial static site. As of October 2026, Vercel Pro is $20/month for one deploying seat plus $20/month for each extra developer who deploys. Password Protection costs $20/month per protected project, and forms need a separate service. Statpio Solo Pro is $9/month for 10 projects with custom domains, form capture, analytics and password protection included, and Agency Pro is $49/month. Vercel Pro does include $20 of usage credit and unlimited projects. If you need server-side code or several developers deploying, compare on features first: Statpio runs no server code and only the account owner can deploy.
Do Vercel and Statpio charge for bandwidth?
Statpio bandwidth is unmetered on every plan, including Free Forever. As of October 2026, Vercel Hobby includes 100 GB of Fast Data Transfer and 1 million CDN requests a month, and in most cases pauses for 30 days if you go over. New Vercel Pro teams get Flat Rate CDN by default: 1 million CDN requests and 1 TB of data transfer a month are included, and a one-day spike doesn't change the bill. If a whole month goes over, Vercel moves the team to the next tier ($20/month for 10 million requests and 50 TB) at the next billing cycle. Functions and Fast Origin Transfer are still billed by usage on Pro.
Can I host a Next.js site on Statpio?
Only as a static export. Set output: 'export' in next.config.js (and images: { unoptimized: true } if you use next/image), run the build and upload the out folder as a ZIP, or connect GitHub for push-to-deploy on Solo Pro and up. Server-side rendering, API routes that read the request, Server Actions, ISR and middleware don't work on Statpio. If your app needs them, Vercel is the better host.
Does Vercel have built-in form handling?
No. As of October 2026, Vercel's pricing page lists no form product, and its own migration guide suggests connecting forms to Formspree through the Vercel Marketplace. In Next.js you can also handle forms with a Server Action or a function. Statpio captures standard HTML POST forms without an action attribute automatically, with Cloudflare Turnstile spam protection and 250 / 10,000 / 100,000 submissions a month by plan.
Can I host a v0 site on Statpio instead of Vercel?
Sometimes. As of October 2026, v0 deploys projects to Vercel. If your v0 project is a Next.js app that uses no server features, get the code through v0's GitHub connection, export it statically (output: 'export'), build it and upload the out folder to Statpio. If it relies on Server Actions, API routes, middleware or server-side rendering, keep it on Vercel.
